By booking or purchasing a service from Chef & Shuffle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Our Services

Chef & Shuffle provides practical culinary, nutrition and lifestyle services, which may include one-to-one coaching, cookery sessions, workshops, group coaching programmes, Cooks Club sessions, private chef services, recipe development and related services.

The exact content, duration, location and price of a service will be shown on our website, booking system, quotation or booking confirmation.

Where a separate written quotation or agreement is provided for a private event, workshop or bespoke service, those specific terms will form part of your agreement with us.

Bookings

A booking is confirmed when you receive confirmation from Chef & Shuffle and, where payment is required in advance, the required payment has been received.

You are responsible for checking that the service, date, time and other booking details are correct.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where we reasonably believe that we are unable to provide the service safely, appropriately or professionally.

Prices and Payment

Prices will be shown on the website, booking system or individual quotation.

Where full payment is required at the time of booking, your place or appointment is not secured until payment has been received.

For bespoke services such as private chef bookings or private workshops, a deposit may be required. The amount, payment schedule and any service-specific cancellation arrangements will be provided before the booking is confirmed.

Additional costs requested or agreed after confirmation, such as additional guests, ingredients, equipment, travel or substantial changes to an event, may be charged separately. Any additional charge will be agreed with you before it is incurred wherever reasonably possible.

Complimentary Initial Consultations

Where offered, an initial complimentary consultation is intended to help us understand your goals and allow both parties to decide whether Chef & Shuffle is appropriate for you.

There is no obligation to purchase further services following a complimentary consultation.

Nutrition, Health and Exercise Information

Chef & Shuffle provides practical nutrition, food, cookery and lifestyle guidance within the scope of the qualifications and experience of the person providing the service.

Our services are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or advice from a doctor, registered dietitian or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

You should tell us about any relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, intolerances, pregnancy or other circumstances that could affect the suitability of nutrition, exercise or cookery advice.

If you have a diagnosed medical condition, significant symptoms or concerns about your health, you should seek appropriate medical advice.

You remain responsible for decisions concerning your own health, diet, exercise and lifestyle.

Individual responses to nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes vary. We therefore cannot guarantee a particular weight, body-composition, sporting, health or performance outcome.

Food Allergies and Intolerances

You are responsible for telling Chef & Shuffle about all known food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements before any cookery session, workshop, event or food preparation takes place.

We will take reasonable care when preparing or advising on food, but kitchens and food preparation environments may contain or have previously contained allergens.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, we cannot guarantee that any environment is completely free from traces of a particular allergen.

If a guest has a serious or potentially life-threatening allergy, you must tell us before confirming the booking so that we can assess whether the service can be provided safely.

Services in Your Home or Venue

Where a service takes place in your home or another venue arranged by you, you are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the premises.

You should tell us in advance about anything that may materially affect the delivery of the service.

Where we are using your kitchen or equipment, it should be reasonably clean, safe and suitable for the agreed activity.

Children and pets should be appropriately supervised and kept away from cooking areas where necessary for safety.

Private Chef Services and Events

Menus, guest numbers, timings and other significant event details should be agreed before the event.

Changes requested after confirmation may affect the price or our ability to provide the agreed service.

Ingredient costs and other event-specific expenses will be dealt with in accordance with the quotation or booking confirmation provided for that event.

Cancellation Rights for Online and Distance Bookings

Where you are booking as a consumer online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory right to cancel your contract within 14 days of entering into it.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.

If you ask us to provide a service during the statutory cancellation period, you are requesting that the service begins before that cancellation period has ended.

Where permitted by law, if you cancel after the service has begun, you may be required to pay for the part of the service that has already been provided.

Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following the necessary request and acknowledgement from you, your statutory cancellation right may no longer apply.

Our Standard Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

For individual coaching appointments, cookery sessions and similar appointments, please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.

Where at least 48 hours’ notice is provided, we will normally offer a reasonable opportunity to reschedule.

Where less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, or you do not attend an appointment, we may charge the full session fee or treat any payment already made as used.

We will always consider exceptional circumstances reasonably.

Group programmes, workshops, Cooks Club sessions, private chef bookings and bespoke events may have their own cancellation arrangements because places, ingredients, preparation time or dates may have been specifically reserved for you. Any additional cancellation terms will be made clear before you commit to the booking.

Any cancellation charge will be reasonable and will not affect rights you have under consumer law.

If We Need to Cancel

Occasionally we may need to cancel or rearrange a service because of illness, emergency, venue problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where this happens, we will offer either a suitable alternative date or a refund for the affected service.

We will not be responsible for unrelated costs you incur as a result of cancellation where those costs were not expressly agreed by us in advance, except where the law requires otherwise.

Group Coaching and Group Sessions

Some Chef & Shuffle services may involve group discussions, video calls or group messaging.

Participants should respect the privacy of other members. Information, photographs, messages or personal details shared by another participant should not be copied or shared outside the group without that person’s permission.

We expect participants to communicate respectfully. We may remove someone from a group where their behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, threatening or seriously disruptive.

Recipes, Videos and Course Materials

Recipes, videos, worksheets, guides, programme materials and other original content supplied by Chef & Shuffle remain our intellectual property unless stated otherwise.

You may use materials supplied to you for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, teach from or commercially exploit our materials without prior written permission.

Photographs and Testimonials

We will not use photographs, testimonials or identifiable client stories for marketing purposes without appropriate permission.

Permission can be withdrawn for future use by contacting us, although we may not always be able to recall material that has already been printed or published.

Our Responsibility to You

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by you, or by your decision to act contrary to safety instructions or professional advice.

Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights available to you as a consumer.

Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the Chef & Shuffle website accurate and current.

General articles, recipes, videos and other website content are provided for information and education and should not be treated as individual medical or nutritional advice.

Personal Information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.

Where a service requires information about your health, allergies, dietary requirements or similar information, we will handle that information with additional care in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with a Chef & Shuffle service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally.

The Terms that apply to your booking will normally be those in force when the booking was made, unless a change is required by law or you agree otherwise.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply to you.
